Update

Post by AKAMatt »

I wanted to post an update as to where I stand in the enlistment process.

On July 22 I boarded with local board and my packet was accepted and sent to the USAREC board. On July 11th I found out that I was accepted by the USAREC Board.

Today I went to MEPs and signed my contract. My ship date is March 2nd 2006.

That will give me approximately 8 months to train and prepare.

Ranger Steadfast...My packet was enlistment option 09S...OCS.
With a first branch preference of Infantry.

Sunntanned Monk, you are correct June 22 was my board date.

You need to get the woman's number who does the class selection and ask her if you can be told in advance what branch they have you slotted for.

They usually don't give out branches until you get to OCS (for civilian applicants) but I've seen this process work out to people's benefits.
