Good afternoon Rangers
I would like to start off by saying that it is an honor to be able to post and mainly to look and learn from the postings of Rangers. Now to ask forgiveness for my sins. I’m currently a Intel. Analyst in the National Guard. 1/211th AVN BN HHC S-2. From APR03-present. And sin number two I’m in the process of switching my contract to a 4-year active duty ROTC program at the university I’m attending. They say that its guaranteed to me, but recruiters will say anything. I love the Army and want to make a career out of it. I hope that I can earn the honor of being able to post and read here. Thank you.
Rwanda, may we never look away form an unjust evil again.

Thank you for the welcomes and the warnings have been duly noted. I call them sins because MI is though of as being big headed idiots that make and give bad Intel to commanders and get soldiers killed. Even though we do our best to keep the unpredictable from happening. I became an Intel analyst because I thought it would help make me a better officer. Also the general feel from soldiers in my unit who used to be INF, have hated 2LT's especially ROTC 2LT's.

Bad intel never killed anyone. Hastily acting upon it and half-assed analysis can potentially result in unnecessary losses.
2LT's generally are dipshits. I was. The Army needs 2LTs, though. In a manner of speaking, the Army needs good field grade officers and above. If those FGO's weren't given an opportunity to learn the hard way and make mistakes, they would be much worse off and therefore, so would the Army.
You aren't guilty of any sins. You've got to be thick skinned. What you've done and what you hope to do both contribute to the Army's mission. These guys give officers shit, and for good reason, because they are critical of all officers. As an O, you could find yourself with a shoulder load of responsibility which may include making decisions that could mean life or death for your men. These gentlemen are hard on anyone who says they want to be an officer because they want you to know with absolutely no doubts what your NCOs will expect from you.
