OCS/Airborne/RIP

Post by AJB »

I am graduating college this weekend and have spoke with my recruiter about obtaining an OPT 40 contract when I do so. I told him I would like to become an officer as I will have a college degree, and that I would like to get my college loans paid off. He told me that the army would not pay my loans if I went to OCS, and that I would have to enlist if thats what I wanted to do. I have been talking to a hometown friend of mine who currently a Ranger but he has recently deployed and won't be able to answer anymore of my questions before I sign anything. I relayed most of what my recruiter has been telling me and he said that it was mostly bullshit, just to fill their monthly mission. I was wondering if there was a specific branch of recruiters for officers, and if going in as an officer does prohibit me from getting my college loans paid? I have more questions, but will hold off and not bombard everyone at once.

How bout you take some "suggestions" first and use the "SEARCH BUTTON" you just might find your answer there.

This is the third time its been mentioned for you to do so.

Once by Ranger Vee, twice by me.

1985 - 1986 75th Inf Ranger Regt

It's not that I respond to kiss the ass of Rangers. Truth be told, I just cannot understand what's going on with these guys in regards to the questions they ask.

I do agree with you though, and I'll refrain from responding to future posts such as this one...they can sink or swim free from my input.

Kissing ass doesn't get us anything but smoked. The Rangers are already on top of it, let them handle the situation.

That's true. OCS/ WOFT applicants are not eligible for Loan Repayment.

Your friend is a Ranger, he's not a Recruiter. He couldn't tell you shit about recruiting.

I am not answering any more questions that have been covered.

[Both you two (jlells01 & SunDevilWrestler) are cluttering up the topic with your little chats to each other and declarations to the world.]

[The bottom line, this is the Recruitment Process and the man answering below (SFC hit_it) has the final say. So how many are you two going to give me in push ups? How many? Steadfast]
