ASVAB
Well i was just thinking about the ASVAB test. I know it is taken junior year of highschool, and right now i am a sophmore. I want to be prepared for this test because i know it is important if I want to become a Ranger. I dont know if you are aloud to give me and information on it, but, what kind of academics are on the test? Is it mostly math or reading or somthing?

I find that difficult to believe, as I typed "ASVAB Test" and received 214 matches ,when running it by "posts", and 124 matches, when running it by "topics." You're going to have to be a little more serious about getting what you're after, if you intend on becoming a Ranger. SpecOps units look for men who can get the job done by taking the ball and running with it.The1whiteguy88 wrote:I typed ASVAB in the search button, but it didnt find anything on it.
Research some of the 214 matches (I would, but don't need to spend my Saturday doing that, as I've already been there). I would bet that there would be other avenues to check as well...talking to a recruiter, checking the goarmy.com site, or running a Google search on ASVAB Test.
I'm not trying to be a dick, just trying to help groom you into finding your own answers. Rangers isn't about taking shortcuts.
If, after doing some real research you still can't find the answers, I feel certain that someone on this site can give you the answers. It is probably completely different from what is was when I went through.
As a side note, it is always good to see someone your age who already has the intent to serve his country. Thank you for your patriotism and good luck with your quest.

Try this as well, it's a practice ASVAB test.Harris wrote:Go to your local Library if all else fails... they carry "preparing for the ASVAB/SAT/ACT" type o' books.

Rafterman and Harris-
Kudos! Personally, I like to see you guys helping each other out, instead of jumping on the "flame wagon."
The BTDTs have been down the road which you DEPers hope to travel. They also did it when it was more difficult, in that the internet was not available to them. They (we) had to just grab your balls and jump into it, not knowing for sure what you were even getting yourself into.
When we see so many young guys coming to these sites, asking the same questions, and seeing most of them later quit, it gets rather old dishing out the same old information day after day.
Thus, the flamings. The flaming sessions accomplish two things for the BTDT: they give us relief (and great pleasure) against the neverending barrage of repetitious questions; and it helps expose you DEPers to the friendly type of responses you will be getting from your cadre and superiors if and when you make it to RIP and Battalion.
It seems pointless, IMO, when DEPers jump on that wagon and begin flaming their own. You are all on the same quest, hoping the attain the same end result: you all want to become Army Rangers (or at least think you do). In my eyes, that puts you all on the same team, in the same platoon.
What makes a SpecOps Team successful is covering each other's ass, training up your weakest link so he is no longer a threat to the team, and shouldering some of each other's load. When one member fails, the entire Team takes a hit.
Although most of you don't even know each other, it would probably be very beneficial for you guys to assist each other in every way possible. The guy you flame for asking a question that you also asked might later end up being your Ranger Buddy in a hot situation. How squared away do you want that guy to be when the shit goes down?
Sure, we're still going to flame you retards when you post those same questions...it's what we do best.
But that doesn't mean that you DEPers can't link up by PM, email, in person, or in the open forums and "rescue" each other. Remember...you are all after the same thing.
Again, good job Rafter and Harris. Hooah!

Do I ever get a spiffy Avatar?
no but really...I'd rather make friends of people who think they have what it takes to be a Ranger rather than pissem off....if yah know what I mean and I think you do
Incase your interested Whiteboy, I took it during 12th grade w/o the help of pre-study material...while I didn't do horrible on it, I feel taking an extra hour to look over the material would have been beneficial. Like my history teacher used to say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
...edit...If only I could type good
...editx2... hah, I now have an Avatar to be proud of, except it looks like the guy is recieveing "pleasure" out of sight.
