Look, Dylan, you have been here over four months and you still have not been to MEPS. You don't seem to have sense of urgency. Never, never quit!

You'd think by now, several months later, that you would know how to properly conduct a PT test. You don't, not even close. And your scores still suck.

Your scores are lower than the last time. When are you going to MEPS? Never, never quit?

Roger that Ranger Jim, I need 3 more credits for me to qualify as HSD graduate for an option 40. I dont want to underestimate RASP and arrive with an unprepared body. Unless you say Im ready with scores like that, Im just trying to give the proper respect. I really want this, my scores will improve. Update when I go to MEPS.

If you really wanted this, your scores would be increasing, not getting worse. You'd have known since day 01 how to properly score your PT Test, and you'd be checking yourself every couple weeks to see improvement.

Where does it say to do 2 miles cross-country (I'm assuming this means off-road running) for a PT test?

How in Gods name can you do 80 something sit ups and only 38 push ups? That just does not register to me, you're either weak as fuck or fixing your sit up numbers.

The run time needs to be done properly so you know how much improvement it needs. Right now with those PT stats you're not even fit for Basic Training, if you showed up to RASP with those scores you wouldn't even have a chance to unpack your C/D bags. Gone in 60 seconds. Guaranteed. You better unfuck yourself pretty quickly or just stop wasting time here.

If you think I'm being harsh think again young man. This is nothing compared to what you'd receive showing up like a goddamned fat body. We're trying to help you, but you need to do the work yourself. There is no movie, this is real life.

Roger that Rangers, I am unfucking myself I slacked on my pt for the 2nd half of the semester. I have run 61 miles in the last 3 weeks. Ran 9 miles yesterday and 5 today. Im not fresh when I take the PT tests. My pushups suck and I will bring more focus to it. There is nothing else I see myself doing, I dont go out and party.I stay in and study and pt. I dont have friends I live in the middle of the sticks. why the majority of all my running is cross-country. I dont lie about my scores I just dont rest for 10 minutes between categories. They will go up. I've been getting leaner since I've started running long distance more. Will post a PT test in a few weeks .

One question, and use your integrity when you answer me, have you once, since you've been on here, googled or searched this site for the proper standards of conducting and scoring an APFT, or have you just skimmed other threads, thought you had a grasp on what it entailed and tweaked it to fit your environment and work out style?

Nobody is fresh when taking a PT test in RASP, they're fucking exhausted all day long. They learn to suck it up, and see how far their bodies and minds can actually push, or which one will break first.

Even in Battalion we would be getting our asses smoked and dropped for push-ups and flutter kicks by the Spec4 Mafia while waiting in line to do the push-up or sit-up portion of a test. By the time you got up there you'd have already done probably 200 push-ups/kicks or been Koala-fied for watching the others get smoked and not helping them. God fucking help you if you failed any portion of the test even after that.

Example: We ran a 10 miler for our normal PT around the impact area on North Ft one morning. We finished the 10+, got back to the quad and were about to hit the showers and chow, no such luck. At that point we were immediately lined up for a PT test, and told that if we failed any portion of it we would be DX'd that very day. Simple mind fuck, gut check, whatever you want to call it, you have to be prepared for it.

The Ranger NCO's at RASP or at Batt, have been crushing the PT standards for years, and also crushing dreams of those who show up weak and unprepared.

I'm telling you this to give you something to think about. You need to be goddamned sure you want this. It does not get easier after RASP, it gets harder, and once the pain comes, that "want" starts to diminish rapidly, and the "quit" will creep in and suck the strength out of you like a fucking vacuum.
