Hey Bugsy, Why did you have to throw that 10th MTN comment in there? William O'Darby went on to be their ADCO in Italy..That's the unit he died with..About Mogadishu..10th MTN assisted B3/75 get out of the AO. I kinda of took it personally...but I'm sure I'll get over it......someday....in the near future.....maybe next year.

I get it just fine. You think I am disrespecting Ranger Steadfast because of what I wrote? How about what he wrote? Of course this is your site, your rules, etc. I am a gamer. I usually don't kiss anyones ass. But. in lieu of getting banned I will today. I will insert my foot into my mouth and you won't hear another peep outta me on this gaming subject.

If I could go back to '92 and do all the hooah shit I would. And I'd make it. But I can't go back and do it. Yea, I've always wanted to be more than a leg, but you know what? I served, which is a lot more than most pussies can say...

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I play the 1st person shooter games ...... some of them. I have never been to combat. So maybe Ranger Steadfast is correct ....... maybe I am trying to subconsciously survive combat vicariously. Who knows. I enjoy some of the games that have a story line just as another enjoys reading a good book, only my book of choice is a little less boring.

While I have played many of them, including but not limited to SOCOM I and II, I am quite certain that I am not subconsciously wishing I were a Navy SEAL.

Now, if you all will excuse me, I've got to go get cammied up and waterproof my headset. I've got the last mission of Ghost Recon II to complete this evening.

I'm not a big video game person. When I do play, I play fantasy games, like NeverWinter Nights. The same thing goes for TV and movies. For the most part, I like to watch, read, play games that are totally different from real life. I won't be buying that BlackHawk Down game; I could care less about it. I do hope it sparks some interest into US military history. That might be all it takes to get some 12yo kid to think, "These guys gave it their all. They are what America is all about. I will do the same in 6 years."

Ranger Bugsy, I joined the Army in the DEP in late 1991. I was actually in the Army during the closing of the Gulf War. By the time I quit fucking around and graduated, the war was over. I went to basic as an 11x. When we finished as 11B's they told us we were going to be going to some "other training". No one really knew what it was going to be. We figured it out when they told us we were going to be 11M's. None of us cherries knew what 11M's were until they shipped us off to training, I think the 1/29INF did the Bradley training, not sure on this...After that we all got sent as a "cohort unit" to Germany. I never went to Airborne School, nor did I ever have anything like that in my contract. After I had been in Germany for awhile Bosnia and Macedonia started heating up. Several people tried getting Airborne and Ranger schools to avoid being deployed again. The 4187's never got approved or never got turned in. At this point I figured why put in for airborne school, no one is getting approved anyway. Should I have perservered? Sure. My whole 10 year Army/NG career was full of woulda/shoulda/coulda but it's too late now.

Nobody is lumping you into a category. You put yourself into one with your comments.

I've never kissed anyones ass in life except for a fellow cop fixing to write me a citation. Once he starts writing, the ass kissin's over with. I've never liked ass kissers either. No one is asking you to kiss anyones ass.

But at the rate you're going, the hole your digging for yourself is getting deeper and deeper.

There's an old saying....maybe you've heard it, maybe you haven't. Maybe you have, but chose to ignore it. "It's not always about what you say, but how you say it."

And just as a reminder, this is a Ranger site. As Ranger Bugsy eluded, a good deal of members on this site not Ranger qualified have garnered a great deal of admiration and respect for their sacrifices, intellect, wisdom and their contributions displayed here.

So far, I'm not seeing any of those qualities in you. You don't like it here? Go somewhere else. You want to try and match wits with me or any other member here worth their salt, you're gonna lose. Right now, I'm pretty reserved and playing nice.

Granted, I don't know you from Adam and don't claim too. The only evidence I have to base you on are your recent posts.

You may not want my opinion, or my assessment, but I've never been one to beat around the bush, talk behind someones back, stir up rumors, blow smoke up someones ass or sugar coat shit.
