whoa!! Step dad not dad. My mom married my dads best friend.And your damn right he is an asshole. And he didnt actually start a fight with him he just ran his mouth and they went back and fourth. YOu know, there are more posers in the world than the real thing. When my eldest daughter was a senior in High School, the Navy Recruiter spoke to her and she IS proud of her Dad, so she said, I dont think I would go Navy, my Dad and Mom were Army...prolly go there if I go at all. Navy puke asked what I did and Meg said, he was a Ranger, Infantry, now a CSM in the National Guard....did all the dirt stuff. This NAVY shitbag says, "Rangers aint shit, I was a SEAL and I know." Well, daughter comes home tells me. I head straight down to the Recruiting office to find said SEAL who said that shit. Office was full including some dickweed Naval Officer. I have a session with this young E-5 Boiler Mate who hasnt EVER seen Bud/S and rip his fucking ears off. His Officer pulls us into a room and asked the problem and I tell him. Officer was soon 3 foot up this kids ass. I told the E-5....Ill see you and when I do, you'll have every reason in the world to press charges against me. The Officer says..."you deserve whatever you get" to the E-5. Seems the boy was "transferred" to a duty station befitting his mentality, Officer called a week later, told me, apologized....Think he was an O-3.

PS. Seals are fine. REAL one's anyhow. I lean towards the Blue Collar soldiers who really do stuff....all of it, all of it well. I dont believe in that Hollywood Union mentality I see in many of the service units. Rangers, they work their fucking asses off no matter what they are doing. ..they do whatever they are doing....well.

It is very rare that I apologize but I mean't to say stepdad not dad. SEAL's are great in the water but flap around on land. Each unit has it's own mission.

I was simply passing on helpful information on how I got to make my decision, as I was in the same situation Spank It is in, so perhaps it would be helpful to him.
