I passed on the Navy out of grad school after competing the PT test with above average scores, but due to the delay of my fiance's graduation, which will occur in 2006, I chose to not continue the process.

I am interested in becoming a Ranger and know that the offiicer billets are very competitive. Physically I would like to think that with more trianing I could achieve above average marks, I competed in college football as a linebacker, so I would consider myself athletic.

I was informed by a fellow peer of mine from high school who had become a Ranger that the Army was a much more family friendly military than the Navy.

I am interested in knowing what, from your experiences, makes a better officer. Enlisted or OCS. I know that some believe that through tthe ranks of enlistment that you gainh an understanding of the specific parts of your squad, but as an officer you recieve better leadership training. Understanding that I have had allot of schooling and would like to put it to the best use, functionally please speak your minds.
Your opinions are appreciated.

I am not here for the college money. I already have sunk in the cost for my own education. I know that this is a huge F8ck you in this community, I footed my own bill and I am not inquiring into how much money I get out of it. Ao please, I am not trying to insult anyone here.
OK NOW I'M PISSED OFF, I RESPONDED TO YOUR PM ON WHAT TO READ AND EVEN HOW TO GIVE A PROPER INTRO AND YOU COME BACK TO THIS THREAD IN THE WRONG FORUM AND GIVE YOUR "INTRO"

BEAT YOUR FACE NUMBNUTS, AND DON'T STOP TILL YOU FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU ARE, WHAT IN THE HELL YOU "THINK" YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO BESIDES SHUTTIN YOUR TRAP!

See what happens when you try the kinder gentler route, they always crap it all up anyways....... (even so called Grad Students WTF!?!)

I'm goin back to my old evil ways, fuck it!!!

I have highlighted in red a few words of yours', "Bare with me." I want you to know that under no circumstance will anyone on this board removed their clothes with you! This is not a nudist colony. Perhaps you should have used the word "bear" instead.

Ranger Steadfast,

My Best Man's father was LRRP in Vietnam. Could I PM you his name to see if you might know him. He too was from ND. I am sure that it was a large community, but I thought that I would ask. I am also unsure if you want me to use names across the boards.

Is his old man a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment Assoc? Has he been to any reunions yet? See on the bottom of each post of mine are my two units I was in during my time, the time frame is included. What unit was he with and when?

For infomation on reunion, you or he could go to www.75thrra.com and look around for the reunion info. It is easily visible since we are always looking for lost brothers to join us, him included.

Here is another link: http://www.northfortmyers.com/Rangers/7 ... oninfo.htm

. Now back to the word bare, you owe me 100 push ups for distracting me and also making me provide this info to your friend. I do not feel like revealing my name to a complete stranger but at the reunion is a different story. Remember next time college boy, the word you should have used was bear. so all total you owe me 150 push ups. Drop and give me only good push ups. The last 20 pu's have your feet elevated at least 18 inches off the ground.

northdakotakid,

Take your MBA, get a nice civilian job, marry your fiance, buy a big house, a boat, 2 ski-doo's, and a 4 wheeler; then fuck off.

I know this is going to cause a shit storm, but why is it that I am attacked for having a graduate degree and being interested in the Rangers?

Everyone who went to graduate school is not a yuppy. There are many bad examples of what not to do when you think you are smarter than everyone else because you made the choice to go the college route. There are also good Mid-Western people like myself that earned what they have and paid their own way to get what they have and don’t want the white-collar job, big house and convertible.

No disrespect, but when you asked for my bio, don’t respect what I have done. Many people have some pre-conceived thought about what type of person I am because of where I am coming from and that is your own opinion, but accomplishments are accomplishments and they come in many different forms. I know that I respect what many of you have done for this country and for democracy as a whole without knowing your history or background but only knowing that you made a pledge to enter into such a disciplined community. My experiences within corporations and in state government they fail miserably at leadership training.

There is and always has been no substitute to the militaries approach to leadership training. This is why I want to be a Ranger, to be a leader and train among the best and to live a life that few have the ability and guts to live. Now if my prior accomplishments are a joke to some that is fine. Respect is earned, never given. And nowadays, with our rush to do everything yesterday, few have the will, patience, or perseverance needed to be truly respected.

I understand that I am a guest and that there is a wealth of knowledge here. I appreciate the help that I have received and look forward to working with those on this site that are willing to help me gain some of the wisdom that they have gained through their own experiences.
