We're getting a lot of NG Ranger hopefuls lately.Conflict has a tendency to draw ticket punchers. The NG attrition rate is a disgrace.Out of every fifty that's sent anywhere from 2-10 get tabbed.
That's bullshit.
If you want your tab why the fuck are you joining the Guard?
You're supposed to take your tab to the Guard not the other way round.
In my opinion, you fuckers want maximum reward for minimum commitment. This is about the fourth post in two days from some wanker that's not even in basic yet that wants his Ranger tab.
You need to pay some dues, gentlemen.
Just so you know.

Have you done anything yet? Here you say you are enlisted as a Cav Scout:
Spend some time reading the posts on this board. Invariably you shall find that someone else has asked the same thing that you want to ask, and it has been answered. You'll also gain a much greater insight into the world you aspire to be a part of. In addition, the painful remnants of those that couldn't hack it are left on display like heads on a fucking pike. Pay careful attention to those posts.
Here you say you go to Basic and AIT in February to be a Cav Scout:BC Bit wrote:Hello i'm Brendon, I am currently a college student in the army rotc program. My question is, are you a PFC/Cadet because of College and haven't actually done anything but drills and ROTC stuff? Please clarify.BC Bit wrote:I enlisted in the National Guard last spring as a Cavalry Scout and i am currently a PFC. My highest goal currently is to be Ranger qualified. I joined the national guard because i am an Army ROTC cadet and wanted time to finish college. I have decided that i no longer want to complete ROTC and will finish up my college at a later date, then possibly go to OCS after i spend quite a while enlisted. Therefore i am more than ready to switch to active service if it will increase my chances of going to Ranger school as soon as possible.
My problem is that i do not know the best path to follow if i want to get to Ranger school in the next couple of years. My current situation is that i go to basic training and AIT for the national guard this upcoming february to be a cav scout. Does anyone have any advice on if i should stick with the guard or go active, and what i should do from there?
