Hi, my name is Patrick. I am 32 and served in the Marine Corps for four years. I went to the first gulf war in 1990. I am thinking about reenlisting in the Army and trying for a Ranger option. Maybe I am crazy at this age to do it, but it is something that has been eating at me for a couple of years now.
I am curious to know if anyone else has gone through the course at my age?

My time in the Marine Corps was well spent. I had 2 years of security forces duty aboard the U.S.S. Eisenhower. Got to see a lot of the world aboard ship. I was then stationed at Camp Lejuene with the 2nd Battalion 4th Marines, Hotel Co. Weapons platoon. My mos was 0331 machinegunner. We did a six month tour in Okinawa and Japan along with a three month tour off the shores of Africa.

Welcome to the site, Marine, and thanks for serving our Nation. My best advice for you would be to PM our very own Letherneck. He is also a USMC Gulf War I vet. He is currently doing the snake eater thing with the US Army. I'm sure that he can answer many of your questions. Plus, he's just a damned good guy.

Other people were fine and you liked them and were good friends; but you only felt true tenderness and love for those who had been there and had received the castigation that everyone receives who goes there long enough."
