JsHooah! Intro

Post by JSH »

First, I want to thank all the Rangers and all those who add to the value of this site. The information here is invaluable.

My name is Joshua, I am currently a 23 year old DEP living in the mountains of North Carolina. I've done some time in college and got a couple of AAS degrees. I am currently a graphic designer for a small company. I ship out March 17th, as a PFC and have an 11X, option 40, and declaired 70 contract.

I've joined this site in preparing myself mentally for the road ahead and to add value as I see opportunities arise to this community as well. Also I want to say thanks to my dad 'Xducer' who found this site and has been a guide and encourager on my way to becoming all I can be.

Thank you

Declaired option 70 is, "Declaired Intent to Special Forces." This can only be used after a year of being stationed.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks for the clarificaiton on the 70 thing. It really didn't clarify anything for me because I never heard of it. SF intent after a year at duty station? You make it to the Rangers and you'll be lucky to see Ranger School in the first year. They be kinda busy. I don't understand the reason or the purpose of that 70 thing. You can always request transfer to SF when you feel like you're ready to go. Most units will let you go with no problem.

Does that 70 thing obligate you to anything? I still don't get it.
