Hello Rangers. I am Nick 22 from Seattle and i am in the process of enlisting and i am thinking of trying to be a Ranger.
See my Dad left me and my Mom when i was 4 so i never had a male presence around. I grew up raised by a woman and i became weak minded and, well, basically a big pussy. I know i am a pussy there is no use denying it, anyone that knows me knows i am a pussy, so i have just accepted it.
I avoid confrontations, i dont have a lot of self confedence, people have made fun of me throught out my life, I dont hav many friends, just a couple of guy friends but moslty women friends. The friends i do have stick up for me when people make fun of me.
My Great uncle was a ranger in the Korean war, My Uncle was a Green Beret, and Many of my male family members were in the Army. (They werent around to help my mom out with me when i was growing up)
I can tell that my Great Uncle and my Uncle are ashamed of me because of what a big pussy i am. They look at me as the weak link in the family chain.
I want to be a Ranger to finally grow up and become a Man, and make my Uncles proud of me. I am just not sure if i can do it. Physically i can do pushups and sit ups and stuff, but for me it is my mind that is going to be the challenge. I Want to quit sometimes when things are difficult.
Can any Rangers give me any advice making it through and helping me change.
CAN I MAKE IT. NEED ADVICE.

Do us all a favor grow a set of fucking balls! Sounds to me like you have already quit! Assuming you can make it out of 30th AG without cutting your wrists, make it through OSUT without hanging yourself with a sheet, and manage to make it through Airborne without getting yourself or someone else killed - the RIP cadre will feast on your bones. Ranger RIP Instructors will lay the smack down on you so fast you won't know what hit you. And that, BIGPUSSY, is the easy part.
The biggest part of making it through the journey to become a Ranger is mental toughness. You need to be in great physical shape, but you also need to be mentally tough and prove it every fucking day. Your lack of confidence will paint a big target on your chest and will draw the jackals down on you. If you can't overcome this before you even think about trying to become a Ranger, you are wasting your time and the time of everyone in the Ranger community.
