Revised intro

Post by FireFinder »

Hi, my name is Brian, and I've been posting here for a while in obeyance of all the rules, and I asked the Admins to change my username as I didn't want anyone to confuse me with that bastion of hippy liberalism in Kalifornia   (that and I thought it would be a good idea not to use my last name as my username).

Ranger Mitch, that picture was taken in Rhode Island in 1986 while waiting to board the C-130 for a flight back to Ft. Bragg after the Rhode Island Special Forces National Guard Invitation Parachute Competition. I'm looking back at some of the guys playing with "Airborne Gumby" which was a Gumby doll attached to the chute out of a parachute flare. His buddy Pokey was lost over All-American DZ at Bragg earlier that summer.

I'll see if I can find the time to scan a pic of "Airborne Gumby" and post it here.

Welcome Hippy. Gentlemen, I met this man over a burger on my way back home down I-5 one day from Ft. Lewis. I can attest that he is one of us. Well, he talked a mean game, although those Birkenstocks, Tie-Dye t-shirt and the soy burger he ordered threw me off a bit.

Hahaha, thats pretty funny. I do own a couple of pairs of Birkenstocks, they are adequate camo for outings amongst the mud-hut-dwelling anarchists that emigrate here from Kalifornia. The only Soy-anything I've ever eaten was in Miso Soup. I've not had any tie-dye since I bought an INXS concert T-shirt in Fayetteville in 1986. :D

I owe you one for picking up the tab at Carl's Jr.
