Hi I'm A1C Escalera I am 20 years old. Currently stationed on Elmendorf AFB, AK. I am in the USAF. Just wanting to see what new things were going on in the Ranger world. I have a lot of respect for the Rangers. My father served as a ranger from 78'-99'. Retired as a MSgt. in Tampa, Fl. while assigned as an advisor the national guard. He was also the NCOIC for the School of the Americas for a while.

Welcome to the site and thanks for your service. We appreciate the service and sacrifices of your father, as well. Tell him thanks and invite him to stop by.

Thank you all Rangers. My job in the AF is basically a computer geek. I work with the Base network and keep all systems on-line. It's great experience but damn it gets boring at times. And being stationed in Alaska isn't helping any. I really dislike the cold.

Welcome. I recall Alaska in January/February in 1981 as being one of the nicest deployments. I really like the cold. Try and relaxing until the tour finishes you will enjoy it some. A good book maybe?

Thanks for serving our country in a cold environment. :)

Actually Bubba, it's not so bad. My little brother was born at Elmendorf AFB when we lived at 507D Richardson Dr. Ft. Richardson AK. We fished and hunted and I could not believe you are not doing that in every spare moment that you're not working or looking for women...

But, like Paf said if it's too cold, there are alot of books about fishing, hunting and stiff... Especially around Mt. McKinley. Enjoy!!!

And welcome to the site.
