SITREP- Boomer
SITREP- Boomer
Rangers, I leave tomorrow for the MEPs hotel and ship the 5th. While I was not a member for very long and was not able to complete my read through of the "Five Mentees Report Here" thread ( I made it to page 101).I was able to learn very much from just reading through the thread. This website has been very beneficial to me and allowed me to talk and learn from fellow DEPers. Thank you Rangers for making this amazing source possible for young hopefuls like us. While nothing can truly prepare us for RASP or regiment these forums are the closest you can get in my opinion. Looking forward to making you guys proud. Will update when I can throughout the pipeline.

Re: SITREP- Boomer
Ranger Jim, I was actually just catching up on the site and what I’ve missed before I posted my SITREP. Currently I am on Holiday Block Leave until 2 Jan where I then report to Airborne Hold. I could be classing up for Airborne school as soon as 5 Jan or a week later on 12 Jan, just depends on how the numbers work out. I graduated OSUT on the 15th of Dec with Echo 1-50. OSUT is really what you make of it. You can either sham the “smokings” and get nothing out of them or you can put out and heep the rewards of doing so. It isn’t hard by any means but some days I did find it challenging to keep motivated and go the extra mile with so many unmotivated, only here because I have to be individuals. I found a total of 2 people in my company who were motivated and strived to be the best. It made for great competition when APFT’s rolled around. I finished OSUT with a 287 pt score.
61 push ups
82 sit ups
11:57 2 mile run
Overall OSUT was a great experience. It also opened my eyes as to how much there actually is to learn, I pray that the direct ship guys get a lot of teaching before they deploy because to be considered “combat ready” after what they teach you in OSUT is disturbing. We learned only two battle drills. I’m glad I’ve chosen the path I have and look forward to learning and becoming the best infantrymen I can be.
As of now my 25m target is PT’ing over Block Leave and getting ready for Airborne. I’m taking it easy on running and rucking as I messed my knee up a couple weeks back and though it’s getting better I’d say it’s only operating at 70%. Hoping it’ll be 100% before Airborne.

Re: SITREP- Boomer
Roger Ranger Disinfertention, knocked out 25+1 for not being proactive. Rangers, currently Mentees Rednovember(Will), Pangolin, and I are in Airborne school. We should be taking our PT test Tuesday and getting right into ground week.We have a long weekend before we start so Will, A couple of squared away friends of his and I have been taking advantage of it and hitting the gym quite often. Feels great to have people with the same mindset as you around. Definitely increases productivity. 25m target is Airborne School and preparing for RASP. In the few days we’ve been here we’ve seen the current RASP class a couple of times now, they are in week two. I can’t put my finger on why but it’s really motivating and pumps me up seeing them. Will continue to update when new information arises!

Re: SITREP- Boomer
I remember seeing Ranger squads and teams running around while I was in jump school. Helps you really focus and see your goal.. although the shorts we wore back then were cringe worthy.
Thanks for checking in Boomer. Have fun in Airborne school.

It's rhetorical but will never go without being said in the future.
