Introduction - Josh

Post by THREEhotDOGs »

Hello Rangers and all,

My name is Josh. I hail from the desert state of Arizona. I am excited to report that just this morning my recruiter called me bearing great news. He drove in to work early today to call ahead on open 11x Opt 40 contracts. Just last night the 11x MOS was completely shut down by the Department of the Army. I decided to wait and see how it looked the next day. If still a no-go i would wait until next week. I'm sure glad I decided to wait because my recruiter was able to reserve me an 11x Opt 40 contract early this morning. I drive in later today to sign the paperwork.

Now a little about myself. California born, Oregon raised, Arizona living. 7 years of football and 5 years of wrestling has given me that athletic mentality and lifestyle. I am a descendant of a military family. Not too sure how far it goes back but my grandfather served in the Vietnam war as an engineer. Parent's are and were military and I have always dreamed of carrying on the legacy. Now that I am of age and have graduated high school I am putting my plan into action. I am sure as hell excited and doubly motivated to prepare and have my chance at completing RASP and taking a spot next to all of you great men.

Thank you all for your service and paving the path for all future soldiers and God bless.

Josh (THREEhotDOGs) If you're curious about where I got my screen name feel free to ask

Welcome to the site, Josh.

Even though you haven't signed your oath of enlistment yet, it is imperative that you start working on your PT. Physical fitness, mental fortitude, and attention to detail are the cornerstones of success for the path you are about to take. Don't let the upcoming holidays be an excuse to delay your training. Furthermore, don't expect the army to escort you to your goals. You have got to EARN it each step of the way.

With that said, start working out immediately. Stay focused on your physical training and never, never quit.

I am scheduled to take the physical at MEPS this coming Thursday. My recruiter informed me that there are still 11x Opt 40 contracts available. I will post another update following my MEPS visit.

I hope everyone's holiday weekend was enjoyable. Thank you for reading.
