I've thought about dumping it, but just can't decide. My next project is gonna be an M4gery, but I am kind of waiting until September to see what happens.

I like the SAR for what it is. But it is a lot easier to accessorize an AR, and the Kalishnikov design ain't exactly what I would call ergonomically friendly.

It's a hang up I have. A black rifle, or the heel of a black J boot that is not flat on the ground, when viewed through a spotting scope, might as well be a neon sign saying "Here I am! Kill me!".

I don't own any safe queens, so I paint most all of my shit. It makes weapons maintenence a whole lot easier too.

Ranger 1st Ranger,
I've been thinking about getting a Bushmaster m4 with a3 upper so I can add some optics later on. What kind of mount do you have on your m4? I've been looking at the ARMS products but don't know what to get.

Here are some links to what I've benn looking at:
Mount and Ring

Spacer

Thompson,
ARMS makes great scope mounts. I went with the issued mount for authenticity, but if you just want functionality, the ARMS mounts will work great. If you mount your aimpoint right on the upper reciever, you will need a spacer to place it at the right height (so that your dot will not be siting on your front sight). If you decide to go wih the SIR rail system, you may not need the spacer. I am not sure who made the mount that I have, but I suspect it was Aimpount. Hope this helped.

Ok, thanks. I will most likely go with the flattop and spacer route. Thanks again.
