I've been toasting Brother Nate since I got off of work 2 1/2 hrs ago, and I will likely continue until I run out. It's hard to believe that he's been gone for ten years. It seems like it was just a year or two ago. I tried to send his parents a message today, but the email addy I have for them is no longer valid. They live about 3 hrs from here.

I had a run-in with a certain Alpha Company CO at 2/75 when Nate and I served together. When I finally ETSed, the Plt. Sgt. called me into his office. The entire platoon was in there. He said they had something to present to me. Nate came forward with a big wrapped box. I opened it, and there was our CO's spit-shined pair of jungle boots, complete with the last four of his SS# inside! Nate had graciously "acquired them" for me.

Can't say enough good things about that Warrior. He was a stud in every single way. I miss him greatly, as does everyone else who had the honor of knowing him. I hope he's saving me a good seat in Valhalla...

Thanks for the thread, Lunch.

RIP Warrior, no more pain or war where you are.

Khost sucks, it did in 07, undoubtedly did in 02...probably always will.

I knew him simply as Chapman, as two young studs in Batt. We weren't hang around buds or anything like that but as Lunch and Bob said, everybody that knew him, liked him. Funny, crazy, motivated to do just about anything, and that shows in his career.

RIP Ranger Buddy.

Thx for posting this Lunch, I didn't know he passed.
