Intro Post

Post by panther »

This is my first time posting to any type of forum so please forgive me if I screw up. I was an 11B1P in HHC 3/505 PIR for 2 years. I was injured in 2001 and given the choice of riding a desk or getting out. After being with the guys that I had served with and working my ass off there was no way I could give up the Infantry. I was enrolled to go to Ranger School Class 9-01 but got injured (spiral fracture in my right leg) in the pre-Ranger course at Fort Bragg 6 days before I got to go.

Welcome aboard Panther! Ya know, I was in the same boat. After a few months after getting back from the Gulf, my hearing went to shit, so after I got my hearing aids they gave me the same option. Hell, that was like going from driving a sports car to driving a tricycle. There was no way I could have handled it, so I got out early on the "early out" program since I only had a few months to go on my second enlistment. I do feel for ya bro.

Thank you Ranger Bell, and as I just noticed that I haven't thanked all of you for your prior and current service, THANKS. I'm sorry that a combat veteran such as Boone (and all the others) is told to pound salt after all he did for this country. I hope that you are well otherwise.
