I'm heading to Panama...any Rangers want souvenirs?

Post by Roasting »

Tomorrow I leave for Panama for a couple weeks, a last chance to visit with family before I ship to Basic. We always bring back Panamanian crafts, molas, souvenirs, etc. for Army friends of my dad that were stationed there. Seems alot of his soldier buddies had a great time down there so they always like to have things to remind them.

If there were any Rangers here on the site that were in Panama and would like something just let me know.

An example of a mola (I've got a large one similar to this framed in my room):

Thanks, but I still have some of Panama stuck in my leg, arm, and ass. Have a good time, eat some Holler Monkey...taste like Roast Beef.

I am proud to say I got out of every deployment to Panama. The last time was about 4 months before I got out and I shammed my way out of that deployment. I was tired of third world countries and didn't want to spend another day in the heat.

LOL!

Yeah, Panama is a third-world country with all its "charm," but its my third-world country. When I said visit with family I meant everyone on my mom's side of the family, not as a tourist.

While my brother was born there and I in Houston, we both have Panamanian blood in our veins and spent a majority of our youth there.

A quick check-in from Panama. This is captain obvious territory, but damn its hot down here. The areas that used to be American bases continue to get turned over into luxury living areas (pics to come later). High-rises and office buildings are sprouting like weeds now in the city. There almost seems to be as many MBs, BMWs, and Range Rovers as the cheap Kias and Hyundais.

Traffic is still insane, you really have to have a warrior mentality, otherwise you won´t be going anywhere. Everybody and their mother has a cell-phone, which means just like in the States there are arseholes that answer calls while at the cine.

Of course, all this comes from my perspective of being in the city. Out in the country poverty is still as prevelant as ever. Internet time is sparse, so gotta go...

Dam, she's still there. Showed her how good it was when she shaved her mojo and did not have to pay after that.
