No, Germantown. Trenton was the year before, when Washington struck a Hessian garrison, doing the same tactic.

The problem with the attack on Germantown was that it was too complicated. Washington's army struck from five different locations, using the same plan that was utilized at Trenton. The only difference was Washington now had an army three times larger, due to the success at Trenton.

The plan went to hell when a fog rolled in, causing some serious fratricide, and when a large stone house along the line of attack was occupied by the British (The Chew Mansion).
