I'm gonna go out on a limb on this one, please feel free to disagree if you see the need, but here goes..

A while ago, CSM Purdy suggested that women should be allowed to serve but should be held to the same standards as men, and I have to agree. If they have the physical strength (a few do), the tactical mindset (some do), intestinal fortitude (a few might) and can endure the same training right along side the boys with no exceptions, i.e., no different PT standards, separate quarters, language requirements, time off for cramps, etc, then let them try. If they can make it through RIP [RASP] or BUDS, SFQC, RECON school, etc, and meet all the EXACT SAME STANDARDS with NO exceptions, then let them go for it.

While I was in Jumps School I noticed the different standards they had set for the two genders and always felt the Army was doing itself and the women I was there with a great dis-service by allowing a completely different set of standards for them to achieve. In my current industry (the entertainment biz) we have some women who can barely hang and then others who work circles around most of the dudes. For the most part, we only have one gender-free standard - either you can do the job or you can't, and this is how the Military should approach this issue.

One standard for all operators, whether you have a dick or a clit (or both).....If you can't hack it, pack it.

If that was the way it actually worked, I still wouldn't agree with it but it would be volumes better. Already with the new pt test they are putting guys and girls on the same scale, yet when asked why they did not include pull ups on the new test.... because it was biased against females. wow. so basically just like everyone on here knows, it will never be the same standard. just a big political showboat.

Point taken, and I agree it is currently a bunch of politically "correct" (though still wrong) bullshit. I'm saying end the bias, make one gender-free standard for all and let those who can hack it achieve what they can. There are very few men that can make it into a Ranger Battalion (or SEALS, etc) and it will be the same with the women....let them compete on a totally level playing field and those who can will rise to the occasion, those who cannot will end up at the 82nd or elsewhere just like the guys do.

For the record, if you were to go to my intro, you will see a picture posted by Ranger Zonk of the world-famous Rangerette Tammy the Mighty. I would put her up against a dozen legs any day and she would eat them for breakfast. There are women out there (at least a few) who could hang if given the chance, we just need to stop coddling them and treating them as inferior.

If they cannot do the exact same PT, Field Ops, Road marches with full gear and a handful of automatic weapons and then hang with a bunch of hardcore potty-mouth paratroopers talking about their sweaty ball sacks and how many sluts they banged over the weekend, then the Rangers (or SEALs, etc) might not be the place for them as individuals. All or nothing, no Midol or flowery talk, just straight -up Rangering.

March or Die, Mother Fuckers....

While I agree with "the Purd's" recommendation, the way I see it, the only ones who would make it (IF they made it) would be some of the "Full Bulls" and I just don't see turning mental patients loose on an OBJ, especially while they are covering my six. :? :|
