Situational Awareness Cautionary Tale
Pretty, uh, shall I say 'interesting' video sent to me by Pfasanias that speaks volumes about being 'aware' of any danger around you at all times:
HERE - BTW it is 1.5MB.

My brother show me this too and he said supposedly the guy lived. He said while he got hit the report said when the car rolled over him the dent from the first car rolled right over him protecting him from the full weight of the car. I don't know if that is true or not but that is what I was told.

That ain't fuckin' funny! I just hope the shithead that ran red and rolled his car didn't make it. Yeah, he ran the red big time, the other direction had green for the duration of the video--watch it again.
Why does that piss me off so much? I'm stuck crossing a nasty intersection just to get to classes every day.
I saw someone almost get hit by a Metro bus one day. The left turn light for the bus was red for a good 20 seconds, and the walk light has been on for 15 or so. This lady starts to step out onto the crosswalk and the bus blasts through the intersection. The bus misses the lady's toes and her nose by no more than 3 inches (no bullshit)! The bus driver obviously never noticed the red light or the lady, no evasive actions, no slowing down, no nothing!

Re: Unaware....
Have not heard of the sales figures for I-pods or the pervasiveness of cell-phones, eh? Are you new to the planet?TiminChicago wrote:I just don't get how people can live life so unaware.
