Mubarak is gone. His government has quit and the generals are in charge as per constitution until the elections.

Hmmm ... yet no progressives are screaming, "military coup". I thought this type of nation building was despised by the Left, as we saw demonstrated by Obama when the Iranians revolted against Achmadinajinedad.

OH, that's right ... with the Iranians, it actually was a civilian led uprising against Islamic rule ... where as the Egyptian revolt is led by the Islamic military and propaganda arm known as the Muslim Brotherhood.

Well, if this is the type of "democracy" Obama believes in, he should have been driven out by our military after the last Tea Party protest. Who knew? We should have just camped out for a few days and this would have all been over.

I was going through the math; 83 million Egyptians with about 2.5 million living outside the country. Geez, there are about a million Egyptians in Saudi Arabia. Do you think there is even a million protesting? By whose math is that a plurality? Obama's?

Now I certainly don"t believe Mubarak to be a saint, but he is the best they have, has been an stable middle east force and is an ally. I think Obama will rue the day he pushed Mubarak out for the Muslim Brotherhood. Beyond that, he just sent a signal to the few allies remaining in the region THEIR days are numbered and the US won't be around for support when barbarians crash the gate.

I won't overtly prognosticate, but this trend does not bode well for the Mideast. It turns US regional diplomacy upside down and opens numerous governments to extremist elements thereby vastly multiplying the threat. Oh yeah, and I missed Obama's support for democracy during Iran's Green Revolution. I am sure all the Iranians that were tortured, raped and killed by the government have a vast appreciation for Obama's self-absorbed, arrogant, contra-intellectual "diplomacy". .

These are interesting as I received them from Australia (the first) and U.A.E (the second). Gives an idea of what others think. I'm not responding to them at least no yet. Can't decide on a few things.... Fact is almost everyone I talk to from any country feels along the same lines. It becomes a constant up hill arguement with most so I tend to not respond after the first few tit for tats.

In my opinion Obama is Clinton's glove puppet. He is good with words but is the same lying son-of-a-bitch that all "democratically elected" Presidents since Roosevelt have been. I don't know who said it but someone said that if you keep all your antagonists fighting amongst themselves, they will never threaten your position (maybe Shakespeare?). No-one ever mentions the policy of isolationism entrenched in the American Constitution and yet the US is involved either directly or indirectly through its minion the CIA in the affairs of every other country in the world! If the people of America can shed their indoctrinated arrogance and return to the values of their founding fathers then there may be hope for peace in the world.
I am not a Racist but with Obama 2 things disgusted me first that man was lucky to be elected as president by a majority who has seen in him the J.F.Kennedy, or even the Reverent Luther King or maybe have seen the Muhamad Ali in him.
He proved that he is neither a Kennedy (remembering the issue with Cuba) neither the Social inner Leader as was the Luther King,, with Muhamad Ali he has two common points (Religion and Color) the difference Obanana doesn't have any guts or Muhamad Ali punch mainly in foreign policy or strategy.. he came with a big mouth not to say with big lies,, even knowing that he could not withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan he used that as a gimmick in his elections,, were does he stand in that issue ?? unknown ..
Sometime i wonder is he playing the game of Iran and he wants that the all Middle East be ruled in the near future by radical Islamist (Considering that he converted from Islam),, Is he remembering his education while kid at his grandparents,,
It is nice talking about democracy,,, The word democracy is translated into a lot of languages when they need it (USA)
As for the changes done in the area I am definitely against,,, the Middle East and mainly the Arab countries are not mature for any democracy I base my saying on the experience and what we are hearing and reading in the Media,,,, what they (USA) called establishing democracy in Iraq ,, people are starving till date, people after several years are unsafe,, 68% unemployment ,, average daily killed 18.64 persons/per day/year long,, is that democracy,, Heard Iraqis saying wished that rule of Saddam was still today....
And from now on you will hear the same in Egypt,, lets don't be happy or applause to the fall of a dictator wait and see !!!!!
Grosso modo : Obanana will loose all his allies in the Middle East soon,, people are loosing trust in him and what is called the peanut (Clinton) foreign policy,,, Bush was hated by the Arab world but respected ,, that dark clown is nothing but a looser ....
Dictators he had to focus on,, are The Syrian Dictator and the Iranian Mullahs worse Dictators that history has known,, Iran is the main factor of destabilization of the Middle East , Obanana had an ally in Tunis Lost, another one in Egypt lost, who's next .......

Obama needs to STFU !!!!

In his latest speech, he makes himself sound like he started, and is currently leading, the Egyptian people. What a fucking arrogant asshole. He's making things worse ... creating anti-american sentiment where it doesn't exist.

Chiron, I read those two emails. What a waste of 2 minutes of my life. Neither had any facts ... just pure propagandist opinion ... both posters are ridiculous! Basically, they are both saying the U.S. isn't perfect. Well no shit ... I'd ask them if they can come up with a better system of government, and argue from there.

"average daily killed 18.64 persons/per day" ... they throw this figure out ... unsubstantiated. I recall when the Left bitched that millions were starving to death, dying because of the oil sanctions we imposed on Iraq.

I'd wager more people per day died under Saddam. They are still finding new mass graves in Iraq.

I had a discussion with the second as the first was not worth replying to... It was along your lines mostly and he sent me this. I don't think I'll reply as his opinion is not in line with mine and we will argue for ever. Most of it is off topic only the end touches on something interesting although his opinion.
As one grows older one tends to acquire a degree of cynicism commensurate with with one's knowledge and experience. It is very easy to be critical if you are on the outside looking in. It is very easy to be critical if you are a victim. When we got our first TV in 1957 just about everything was American. We especially loved Disneyland and the Lowell Thomas documentaries. Warner Bros cartoons with Bugs, Sylvester, Porky, Sam and Marvin were great! For me, my concern about the American system started when I was about 10 years old. My dad was a projectionist with the Hoyts Theatre Group for 16 years and I reckon that I saw every Saturday Matinee and then some during this time. My view started to change one day when I saw a Mighty Mouse cartoon. Of course Mighty Mouse was a metaphor for the USA and the dreaded Black Cats were a metaphor for the dreaded Soviet Communists. In this particular tale the Cats attacked the peace-loving mice on a small island and destroyed their way of life. Fortunately Mighty Mouse arrived on the scene responding to the call for help from the Mice and quickly despatched the Black Cats. What a hero! But...instead of returning the Mice to their former way of life Mighty Mouse gave them all ice cream and turned their island into a fun park! This is an obvious metaphor for US foreign policy where power and influence are often purchased by creating a political or economic dependency on the US. Bear in mind that since the end of the Roosevelt presidency all subsequent Presidents have subscribed to this philosophy including their advisers and bureaucrats and they have enforced this philosophy with people like Hoover and subterfuge through the CIA. Some times even wars have been created to service this philosophy. History was once the realm of the victors but with the advent of things like the internet the victims and the vanquished are now coming out with the truth. For example Truman ordered the nuclear bombing of Japan after the Emperor had made overtures to the US to capitulate. Kennedy looked the American people in the eye and told them that the US had no interest or involvement in Laos at the same time ordering Westmoreland to bomb the Laotians 18 hours a day, 7 days a week until they were obliterated. LBJ condoned and ordered carpet bombing of Cambodia to destroy there agricultural base so that Chinese troops could not benefit from food produce. And bloody Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt went "all the way with LBJ". Isn't going all the way a metaphor for being the US's whore? We had no business in Vietnam and the fact that Australia woke up this in time is why, like it or not, our relationships with Vietnam and China are so good these days. Similarly Carter, the morally bereft Nixon, Bush, the former head of the CIA, Clinton and now Obama are simply perpetuating this disease. The US bought and paid for the Pahlavi regime in Iran with arms and training. The US bought and paid for the Hussein regime in Jordan with arms and training. The CIA created the Taliban. The problem for the US in the Middle East is not so much the perpetuation of rule by the people but more that the religious zealot minority seems to overwhelm the secular majority with the politics of hatred and tribalism. So the point of this all comes down to the fact that I do not hate America or Americans. On the contrary I love both the Nation and it's people. I love the American Constitution and the people that created it and I love that an Egyptian in Tahrir Square after hearing that Mubarak had resigned screamed that Egypt wanted a constitution like the American one and freedom and democracy just like the Americans. I say that the ideals that this person was referring to were the one's that existed prior to Roosevelt. Maybe America needs it's own Tahrir Square...who knows? Sure as God made little green apples I wont be around to see it!

Anyone who thinks Mighty Mouse was created as an anti communist propaganda tool, and a demonstration of U.S. foreign policy is coo coo. Someone rips off Mickey Mouse and Superman, and suddenly its a conspiracy.
I say that the ideals that this person was referring to were the one's that existed prior to Roosevelt.
I lightly skimmed, and skipped straight to the end. This knucklehead is all over the place. Roosevelt? ... why not Wilson or Lincoln?

This guy either does not know "human nature", or chooses to ignore it because accepting the 'true paradigm' in which we live, would cause his arguments to collapse. Its more Al Gorian/Obamamanian, liberal, fantasy, Utopian bullshit. These assholes still have not figured out why Marxism always fails.

Whenever they try to sell their socialists ideas with their little theoretical college classroom BS ... they always construct a model of the world where each and every human being is ... Christ-like. They refuse to acknowledge the facts of evolution and Darwinian survival of the fittest. They hate science when it disagrees with their power grabs.
Truman ordered the nuclear bombing of Japan after the Emperor had made overtures to the US to capitulate
First, has this turd ever heard of an unconditional surrender? Does he have proof that the Japanese Emperor offered one? What were the terms of the surrender? The Japanese were known to always fight to the death. Japanese wave a white flag? ... yeah, right. The guy ever hear of Hiroshima ... and Nagasaki. Shit, it took a second one to get a fucking surrender.

On the Sunday morning news shows I heard that Egypt is Obama's "tear down this wall" moment and he is a great leader for democracy. Nineteen months ago he went to Egypt, and due to the Egyptian people hearing Obama speak of democracy, they rose up and will now create a democratic Egypt for the first time in 5,000 years. Obama is the man of the moment and will have his face carved on Mount Rushmore due to his bringing peace and democracy to the Middle East.

Another thing heard was Egypt has brought change and it will be totally different now.

OK, history lesson. Right now a dictator was removed and the Egyptian Army has taken over until there will be a new leader.

This is totally different than when Sadat was removed, and the Egyptian Army took over, and an Egyptian army officer, Mubarak, became dictator.

Which was totally different than when Nasser was removed by an uprising of the people, and the Egyptian Army took over, and an Egyptian army officer, Sadat, became dictator.

Which was totally different than when Farouk was removed by an uprising of the people, and the Egyptian Army took over, and an Egyptian army officer, Nasser, became dictator.

I'm glad that all is new now and none of this has happened before.

Hey Marine Ranger now you get an idea of the types I have to talk to over here.....

I often just walk away or change the subject. The words "what ever" and me going for a drink or cigar is the usual.

LOL Chiron, I've spent some time on Liberal discussion boards. I've been censored, thrown off, censored, sanctioned, censored, barred, censored, banned, and censored more times than I can count. I've never seen such a close-minded group of people as the modern democrat.

One place banned me for a week just for saying,
"Canada ... France's retarded cousin".

Hey ... the board had liberal Canadians pretending to be U.S. citizens. Fuck them. At least fly your flag.

BTW, I'll answer to Marine or Jarhead, etc. ... since I seem to be the only one around.

RgoKelly X2 on your 'line of succession' post. A real thread killer.
