Its my time to visit Benning. I'm heading to the hotel this Tuesday and am hopefully starting on September 3. I really appreciate all the advice and guidance I've gained here, especially those who have spoken to me in private messages. I'll be back in December an Infantryman.

Thank you and stay safe,
Kevin

Kevin,

Earn it, even just earning the title Infantryman, you are doing something that many before you have gave the ultimate for. Don't half ass it because you're Guard (Guard is still Army) or because you don't yet have the chance for the honor of being called a Ranger. Bust your tail, prove yourself, and you'll do better than I did. Remember there is still a lot of honor and history in those Crossed Rifles.

I am looking forward to your Graduation.

Greetings Rangers

36 hour pass, week 10. Been a hell of a ride. We've already completed most of the requirements, we have FTX, some combatives, and mounted react to contact left. Been a few times I didn't think I'd make it but I've completed everything and never quit, now we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Honor Hill in 19 days. We got our berets and dress blues last week, that was a nice milestone. Its going to be weird leaving, I've gotten strangely comfortable in our routine but at the same time I can't wait to get out and move on. I've been a team leader for several weeks, which I've enjoyed. Me and a few buddies are just hanging out relaxing at the hotel right now. Our Drill Sergeants are all real squared away and I'm happy with the company I ended up in. Hope all is well with you all, stay safe.

Rangers,

Got my Blue Cord on 10 Dec. Proudest day of my life. We had 3 guys in my platoon going to RASP and I'm pretty confident they'll make it; all stand up guys. It's still weird being home, part of me misses it. I'm still a weekender, but despite stuff I've heard about the Guard my unit doesn't seem so bad. If we actually stick to the schedule I received, we'll be doing a lot of shooting, rucking, and urban ops.

We had a bunch of Ranger tabs in our cadre, and our XO was from 2/75. Great teachers.

My PT score still sucks, my highest was a 235. My average is about 13:30, 55 pushups and (my weakest point) 60 situps. I'm not sure why but its been really hard for me to improve past those numbers, I'm just gonna keep working at it though. I'll be using my school benefits while I'm drilling and if one day my turn comes for active duty or deployment I'll be ready. Beyond that, I want to be an LEO or State Police so thats what I'll be working towards.

I'll be reading still, always tons to learn here from all of you. Thanks for leading the way for us younger guys. Be safe everyone and happy holidays.
