Introduction gorilla army 2LT

Post by gorilla army »

RANGERS!! I am currently a cadet at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. I will commission 17 DEC 2010 and then start my Gold Bar Recruiting 29 DEC 2010, so I am very close and very eager to get started. I got my first choice of Infantry and I couldn't of been happier because I have wanted to be an Infantry officer since I was a kid. I got my orders recently and I will be stationed with the famous 173rd Airborne in Vicenza Italy, and again I couldn't of asked for any better station. I will be attending IOBC on 17 APR 2011 and Ranger School will follow. I know that Murphy will catch up with me eventually because things don't ever go this smoothly. ROTC was very easy for me and physically I excelled getting 300+ on my APFT since I was a Sophomore. I had many opportunities to lead my peers in college as well, I was the Bataan Death March team leader for two years and the Ranger Challenge team commander as well. I had a lot of success at these competitions, getting the top APFT score 2 years in a row at RC and finishing Bataan in 5:45min heavy. I apologize if it sounds like I am bragging but my success is what drew me towards the idea of being part of the Special Operations Community. I always strive to be the very best and discount those who are lackadaisical with their demeanor and training. I think this is my downfall and I worry that I might be too hard on my soldiers because they don't exceed the standard, and that is why I want to be in a Ranger Battalion. I want to serve with the elite and I want to maximize my time with platoon and company sized forces, so that I can be with the men.
Well I have hundreds of questions and I apologize for any of you that are bored with my intro but I will be seeing you around.
