Intro- 3A7

Post by 3Attack7 »

First things first, I am Active Duty Army Enlisted 11B.
A Co 3/7: August 09- Present
My ultimate goal in joining the Army is to be a Ranger, not just qualified to be a Ranger. Being stationed out of GA, knowing all the people I do in Batallion, I am very motivated to become a Ranger and ready to do whatever it takes. I came to this website to find the best route into Regiment, and to get all my questions answered. Thank you Rangers for any help I may need.

Welcome stud. Thanks for your service.

When I was in 3ID, I had a buddy in 3/7 Mortars. Then when I moved to Hunter I still kept in touch with him and a few of the guys out there.

The way that I actually came down on orders for RIP at the time was by submitting a 4187 requesting an Intra-Post Transfer from 4/64 AR to 1/75 RGR RGT. The thing is, since Stewart and HAAF are technically the same post as far as the army is concerned I was just moving up the street, even though I had to go to Benning for RIP and then come back to inprocess all over again.

The big hurdle is getting your Chain of Command to sign off on it. I prepped the objective by letting everyone know what my goals were, scoring 290+ on the PT test, being motivated, and calling Ranger Assignment Team at least once a week. Of course, it helped that my CO and BC at the time were both tabbed tankers who were thrilled that SOMEONE in their unit was showing initiative.

I'm not gonna lie, getting out of 3ID at the time was difficult as hell and there were people who were completely shocked that I actually pulled it off. Just keep after your goals, stay motivated, and NEVER QUIT.

Then you know what it takes.
You've come to a good place but bottom line is that you already know what is up, it is entirely up to you now.
