Introduction - Brooks

Post by Shockershot87 »

Hello Rangers and Esteemed readers,

My name is Brooks. I recently finished my B.B.A. with a major in Finance this past May and have been interested in joining the military for 2 years now. Originally I was working on going into Marine OCS, but now my attention has turned to seeking out an 11x Opt 40 contract. I'm 23 years old, an avid firearms owner and competitor, and have played nearly every sport while growing up. I've been doing CrossFit for the last 6 months and my overall fitness is what I consider to be above average. I'm set to take the ASVAB here in a few days, and after taking the pre-test in the recruiters' office, I feel confident (97/99). I've been silently reading these forums for approximately 2 months now, collection information, before joining to seek further wisdom. I'm already in talks with Army Recruiters to get this ball rolling and am extremely excited at the possibilities that lie ahead. I look forward to receiving further guidance on this quest and I respect the path that has been laid before me by others.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to the endless possibilities that await.

Ranger Bill, Ranger al_2ndWolfhounds, and Ranger Ron:

Thank you for your words of wisdom and assistance. I shall inform further on my proceedings. Should I continue to update my process here on my Introduction post?

Ranger Jim and Ranger Bravo57 and all other Rangers,

Thank you for the welcomings.

Well, after taking my ASVAB Wednesday, I scored in the 97% percentile with a 127 on my GT score. Now, all the recruiters are suggesting I pursue the 18 Xray program. Any advice between the two? Regarding 11x Option 40 or 18 Xray?

This issue can be found on countless threads on this site. Research it yourself using the search feature at the top of the page. Never, never quit!

I've been doing countless hours, if not days of research on the two routes. After reading your reply Ranger Jim, I realized that my statement has in fact been repeated numerous times and is frustrating to read. I will continue to research responses from posts already created to form my own decision. Thank you.
