future medic

Post by bibulous »

Hello, all,

My name is Anthony. I will be 30 years old this summer. I enlisted last thursday as 68w. I leave for Ft. Sill 20100913. I didn't secure an option 4 or 40 contract, but if there is a chance of making it to Regiment without one, I will make it there. If it is meant for me, then I will earn it.

I was raised in Slower Lower Delaware, and moved to Colorado after my house burnt down when I was 19. I am an avid hiker and enjoy hockey. I have been married for 5 years. I have been going to college for the past 7 years off and on, just a class here and there because I work full time and the money is good. I wait tables in a fancy hotel restaurant and have had the pleasure of waiting on Shaq, Harrison Ford, and Madeleine Albright to name a few.

I enlisted now because I know I am meant for so much more than serving people food. I still want to to serve, but at a grander scale. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and conquering them head on.

Thank you, Rangers, for your service both on the battlefield and on this website. It is invauluable.

Welcome and congratulations for enlisting. Do the best you can to be among the top in all your training. And good luck in reaching your goals, with "luck" meaning preparedness meeting opportunity. Get prepared so you're ready when and if opportunities appear and make your own good luck. Be sure to read and heed the ROE PM I have sent you.

if you do some searching on here, you might find a few ways to get what you want, beyond hoping someone drops an opportunity in your lap once you get in the pipeline.

Thank you, Rangers, for the welcome. I have been using the search feature and found heaps of information about becoming a medic in Regiment without option 40. I've downloaded the Ranger Medic Application. The enclosed PT program and Ranger Creed were a surprise. I am now learning the Ranger Creed and will start the 6-week Pre-RIP workout this week. I did an assessment with my recruiters on thursday, and my scores were as follows:

Push-ups 1 min: 44
Sit-ups 1 min: 49
2 mile run: 14:35

There were only 2 guys that were shipping out within a month, and they did 2 minute intervals. The rest of us did one minute.
Lots of improvement needed.

Thank you again for this website.

Anthony.
