Good Evening Rangers! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Josef, I am a college graduate from The University of Central Florida and a miliatary brat. My Father served 21 years in the US Army and 19 of those years was in Army EOD. Today I just finalized my elistment with the US Army. I was fortunate enough to get an 11xOpt40 slot. My journey has just begun, I will train hard listen sharply with the intent to one day accomplish my dream of joining your brotherhood. I envy all of you!!!
Josef

Re: Intro
Welcome again. Just checking but got to ask; when do report? Not to be on you too much but this is the area is for Rangers, Veterans, Ranger Wives/Parents. If you haven't served yet you need to be in the Future Soldier area.

Re: Intro
Welcome and congratulations for enlisting for the opportunity to serve our country as an Army Ranger. The road ahead of you is a tough one, so get prepared for it mentally and physically. During your recruitment process, did they try to steer you away from Rangers into other jobs? Did they tell you that there were no Ranger openings available and then eventually find one for you? The reason I ask is becasue many young men are told there are no openings. Be sure to read and heed the ROE PM I have sent you.

Thank you Ranger Bill for the PM. I have already made two mistakes since I have registered by posting my intro in the wrong section, not once but twice. My apologies to all the Rangers that this site belongs too. I fully understand that I have tread on ground I have not earned the right to walk on. I will be sure to read all of the stickies before posting in any forum. Im here to learn and prepare myself mentally for the task ahead of me and I understand that requires attention to detail.
Ranger al_2ndWolfhounds my ship date is Sept 15th and if all goes well I will be starting RIP Jan 3rd. My apologies again and I will be sure to fall in where I am permitted.
Ranger Bill my wait for my Option 40 was not a long one but it was not easy. I had to go through two different recruiting stations before I found one that was willing to wait and help me get what I wanted. The ones that were not very helpful were pushing 18 x-ray and 11x with an airborne option, while telling me I could go to Ranger school after I get to my unit. Neither one of those were acceptable.

Re: Intro
Josef, when did you graduate from UCF? I just finished up my last exam of my sophomore year last Wednesday and like you, upon graduating plan on enlisting with the Option 40 contract. Do you still live around/near the campus? If so, we should meet up and do some PT. Also, would you mind sending me a PM of which recruiting office you went too? I have only been to the one next to Knight Library and would like to talk to some others, especially the ones who actually want to help recruits like they did for you. Congrats on your contract.
Returning to my lane.
