Not so much. The Japanese wrote their own history after WWII, and they were not at fault for anything of course.

Quirintino was up front about it in the publicity phase, he just wanted to make an action flick with a "feel-good" aspect & what could be more feel-good than pretending that the Jews fought back? I guess the scene in 'Pvt Ryan' of the Jewish Ranger waving his Star of David at the German PWs quite did it for him.

I thought this movie sucked balls. I did like the "Bear Jew" character though.
