Introduction - Mike

Post by MikeZDM »

Hi, my name's Mike and I'm an 18 year old from New York. For the past 5 years I've been overseas in Istanbul, Turkey and attended an International School then a private Turkish school (even though I'm American). My dream is to become an Army Ranger and I've been speaking with a recruiter for about a year on trying to become one. To me, being part of the Army and furthermore being part of the United States Army Ranger is an honor and I hope to achieve that. I've been studying for the ASVAB as well as PT so that I may excel and become a Ranger. Any help on achieving my goal would be immensely appreciated.

Somebody is going to come along and tell you to post your PT scores: how many pushups on two minutes, how many situps in two minutes, and 2 mile run for time. Might want to be proactive and make this happen by Thursday at noon. Brief back...?

Welcome. Your interest in Army Rangers is appreciated. It seems as if you've had an interesting last few years Turkey. Be sure to comply with Ranger LEROY's instruction and also to read and heed the ROE PM I have sent you.

You failed to meet a time hack, not a good start! I'll give you until the end of the GT and UVA game, it starts at noon tomorrow. After which I will log on to check if have completed the above mentioned task.

Leroy, he has a specific time requirement to report on the same task for Midnight Sunday. If he fails, there are a couple berserkerkers all set to light him up.

Lad,

Are you sure that is a Good two mile time? Ran faster than that in old style Combat Boots, for old five event PT test. PU/SU wouldn't be bad, for one minute periods in same OLD test.

Are you wasting your/mine/OUR time?

OK, Mike, now we have a baseline that you can use to measure your progress. Here on armyranger.com there is a thread dedicated to discussing how to improve your PT scores. It will provide you with a wealth of information. By the way can you swim? While swimming is a great way to improve your overall fitness, it is a skill that many Americans lack. Please begin work on your fitness and never, never quit!!!

Well Ranger Reiver, I'm a natural sprinter since I can run 100 yards in 11.90 seconds. But now I've been training myself to run distance and gain conditioning and stamina. I've started this training a few weeks ago so I can understand that my 2 Mile is slow.

I'll locate that thread immediately Ranger Jim, thank you. I can swim very well so I'll locate a indoor swimming pool somewhere around my community. Thanks again.
