AT in rifle platoon
AT in rifle platoon
I am studing public FM ( http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... 8/appa.htm ) about US Infratry and Rangers rifle platoon structure and I see Rangers do not have any antiarmour gunner in weapon squad. Is this mean that all Rangers can have AT weapons if mission needs that? All Rangers have done such training?
If it is not in there ( Public FM) I don't think it should be made public. My .02

Maybe you have right Ranger Smiddy, but some of these FMs were publicated by Army as well. http://www.adtdl.army.mil/cgi-bin/atdl.dll/fm (not working all the time).
But I see and understand your reaction and no more such questions from me.

I'm not referring to your question. I'm referring to their practices of active surveillance of US forces and compromising OPSEC info. Alot of Soldiers think their cool and alot of Americans work for them, however their fuck ups speak for themselves. But as for your question, the bottom line is that as you might find references (official FMs or elsewhere) that explain the Table of organization and equipment of the Regt., it is constantly changing and it is for the most part classified. Some Battalions and Companies run their AT sections different, but all in all what you read is a half truth. A little yes and no. But how you read it is basically wrong.Grey wrote:Maybe you have right Ranger Smiddy, but some of these FMs were publicated by Army as well. http://www.adtdl.army.mil/cgi-bin/atdl.dll/fm (not working all the time).

In other words, the strength of the Regiment is not what weapons they own, or in some cases, used to own, but how they task organize personnel, equipment and transportation for different missions. And that is none of y'all's business and THAT is what is constantly changing....
If you are the enemy, keep looking over your shoulder. When they suddenly appear, you may as well kiss your ass goodbye, for it is probably already too late.
