Take Ranger Jim's offer ASAP and call him. Your logic is flawed and makes no sense. Or am I already sensing the "I was going to be a Ranger or Green Beret, but..." syndrome? Or is there something that leads you to believe you will not qualify for an Option 40? Trust me on this: With an Option 40, nothing is given to you. You will have to prove yourself.
WE NEED MORE RANGERS!

We did lunch. Mike is a fine young man who seems to have his head screwed on right. I appreciate his permitting an old man the opportunity to philosophize and wax nostalgic. I think we have a great candidate for Option 40!

Mike, you'[ll do well! Never, never quit!!!

Ranger Jim,

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to speak with me about your time with the Rangers and options for me as a man aspiring to be a Ranger. I truly think this is something that not only I can do but something I can be good at, so I will continue to be draining you of any knowledge I can if you continue to allow me!

Visiting my recruiter again today, after speaking with Ranger Jim I did some more research on MOS's available to me with an option 40 and I've become very interested in 13f. So I'm going to see if it's available and in reality how long I have to wait until they cave in and give it to me.

13F is an Artillery Forward Observer. Great job. A number of the Rangers on this site are former and current FOs. Mike, there is not a bad job in the Ranger Regiment.

Ranger Jim,

I sent a private message to Ranger Bravo57 as I saw a post of his from a previous date speaking about FO's, but 13f seems like a very exciting and challenging job so I'm excited. Frankly the more PT I do everyday the more excited I get about leaving, can't wait for this contract at work to be over so I can head out.

Rangers,

Taking my ASVAB August 6th, studying in the meantime and trying not to focus on to many things at once. Getting a good score on the ASVAB for now and ofcourse still performing PT daily.

Rangers,

Finished my ASVAB today, my unverified score was 70 (the "predicted" score as the recruiter put it). I am not thrilled about my score but the recruiter said I will qualify for 13foxtrot option 40 contract (he said he could get me that contract as well) and I'm meeting him again monday/tuesday when my official scores arrive to discuss everything.

My experience with the ASVAB test was very motivational as I got to meet other men/women who are joining the military to either run away from home, money for college or because they have no other choice. I refuse to serve with people like that and listening to some of the things they said made me walk away...this is just more motivation for me to graduate RIP.

Rangers,

I had an accident camping and sliced a good portion of my heel off on my right foot. Thankfully it has fully healed, much quicker than the doc expected and I have been training in full for about a week now.

A recruiter at my recruiters station who wears the 3rd BN scroll on his left shoulder told me that if I can show him my "claimed" run times, push times, situp times that he will get me the 13foxtrot Opt 40 contract. I will be going into the recruiters station sometime over the next few weeks once the recruiter has time for me to sit down with him and do the PT test etc. I am very excited and I don't care if I have to do the APFT everyday for a month infront of the recruiters, I want this contract.
