Introduction

Post by C-Fro »

Rangers,

My name is Corey. I am currently on my senior year in High School. It took me about a month to reserve an Option 40 slot, It was well worth the wait. I then went to MEPS on 20090903 and left with an 11x Option 40 contract, Also well worth the wait. I decided not to barge into your house all Gung-Ho because of something I did not earn yet. I could let you know that this was a childhood dream since I was 1. This though, would in fact be a lie. I could barely tie my shoes more less even coming close to being able to grasp the true concept of Duty, Service and being an Airborne Ranger. All I will say is, I was brought up as a child knowing that actions are a lot louder than words. I will prove to you how bad I actually want this when I go through and complete the training. I feel this is the only true way someone can prove this, because everyone that doesn’t want it bad enough eventually ends up quitting. Enough said.

I have been lurking on this site for over a year, and decided it is about time for me to do an introduction. I learned a great deal from this site, It helped me a lot while I was in the process of enlisting. So I’d like to personally thank each and every one of you. I would also like to thank this Community for the opportunity to join this site. If you have any questions for me, It would be my pleasure to answer them.

V/R,
Corey

Welcome and congratulations for enlisting to become an Army Ranger. Best of luck to you, with "luck" meaning preparedness meeting opportunity. You have the opportunity. Now it's time get start getting prepared, mentally and physically. You have the time to become a PT stud before you ship, so get going. Be sure to read and heed the ROE PM I have sent you.

Thanks Ranger Bill,

I'm working my butt off to be a Pt Stud.
At my work there is a full weightroom, cardio room and an olympic sized swimming pool.
Everyday I show up to work a hour early and leave a hour late, I use this time to workout.
I also run every day before school on the school's 1/4 mile track.
I have more than 9 months to train so I should be ready for Basic.

Corey, a man has only one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression. So far, you seem to be doing well enough. If you truly want to earn your place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right site. we take considerable pride in the fine young men who have included armyranger.com in their life journey. As you have been here for a while I will assume you are familiar with how the search feature enables you to find the answers to many of your questions. Ranger Jim,

I was prepared for this Assignment so I did a PT test this morning.
2 mile run: 13:45
Pushups: 56
Situps:76
Not the best, I know. But I work on it everyday.

Also,
When I was a Freshman in highschool I could not do a single pushup, I couldn't do more than 22 situps and I had problems running 1/4 a mile.
Back then, I was 5'8 and almost 190 pounds.
Now, I am 5'10 and 160 pounds on the dot.
I have came a long way, and I have a long road ahead of me.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Well, you are right, it is not the best I've seen. But it does serve as a baseline that you can build on. Now please tell us a little more about where you grew up and how you are doing in school? Never, never quit!
