Enlistment SitREP

Post by acidyen »

Rangers and fellow board members,
I wanted to update from my last post, which is a very long time ago(close to a year.) I have to say that a lot has changed since then, but my goal has only been altered slightly. I spoke with a recruiter this week by phone. Rather than complain, I will just explain shortly why by phone and not face to face. The recruiters where I am located and I do not see eye to eye so I grabbed my life by the balls and said, "I don't need to sit around waiting for things to happen." and instead called a recruiter half way across the country from me and told him my situation and plan. He is in the process right now of verifying my Diploma and making sure it is square.

I am going into that office with one thing and one thing only in mind: an Option 40 contract.

I will post an update this coming week as he has stated Monday he will have an answer. I have been calling him daily to make sure he is on top of things because I know recruiters are busy.

Until then.

Yes sir, Ranger RRDTm3. I am currently in Texas and have had 0 luck where I am located(Laredo) and the place I am going to head to is Ohio. I have family up there so it's not as idiotic as it sounds I promise you that sir ;) I didn't just throw my finger on a map and pick a place to call. But believe me, if that's what it takes to get me into the military I will randomly call stations in every state twice over and then some.

Rangers and board members,
The recruiter has finally called me back, but it seems it is downhill from here. He has told me that the school is a Tier II equivalent school(GED) so I have no hopes of going in without college credits. I've had other people tell me to try another branch, but honestly there's only one branch for me. It seems unless something happens to change the current ruling on GED acceptance or I manage to scrape up cash for college, I'll have to put my plan on hold. I don't plan to give up, and I don't plan to "Not go in." If it takes me 2-3 years of working and going to school then so be it.

Thank you for all the help so far and any help in the future. Until then...
