My recruiter called me last night and informed me that my official score was an 89. I guess I should concentrate on my PT now.

Just an update to my journey. I have been following the 100 pushup and the 200 situp programs and I am in the 4th week. I have also lost at least 8 pounds. I am eating healthier meals and not drinking any sodas anymore. I need to stat running, although I did do a 2.5 mile hike last weekend with an elevation change of 1380 feet, with some running incorporated into it. I am still trying to convince the other half, but it seems to be a losing battle on my part, so I will have to see what pans out. Thanks Rangers for any and all input.

Ok, so I finally ran today. I am pathetic. Could only do a 1/4 mile at a time. My cardio sucks! First 1/4 was 1:35, second was 1:55, third was 1:56, and I walked one 1/4. I need to get out and do that much more. Any suggestions on ways to build my cardio? I am on my feet almost all day long, but not too much moving around.

Where are you in Virginia exactly ? As for running concentrate on finishing your distance. If this mean you have to slow down to a snails pace run then so be it. You can work on speed later, but you need to build up a distance of at least 2 miles regardless of the time. Finish at least a 1/2 mile run this week without stopping or walking then attempt the other 1.5 miles walking, running, crawling, or any combination of self propulsion. Learn to control your breathing as in keeping it regular and controlled. If you feel like your breathing is out of control then you need to slow down. I say again, if you try to run too fast your 2 mile run completion is going to feel unattainable. Hiking is good too and I mean walking your hike with a purpose. Don't be surprised when you lose more weight hiking then running.
