Introduction

Post by GreAle90 »

Hello Rangers,
My name is Alex, I'm 18 years old, a senior in high school and currently in the Future Soldiers program. I signed for a 11x/opt. 40 and I leave for Ft. Benning in June. Many of my family members have been in the Army, one Ranger, and two SF. Since I was young I want to join the Army's infantry, and now that I am really old enough to understand my options I knew i wanted to attempt to become a Ranger. There is not a doubt in my mind that this will be the most demanding test of my life, but its what i want most, so the only way im not getting it is if i die. Any informations you Rangers can give me about what i should do would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well, Alex, a man has only one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression. Please allow me to say that I am a little concerned about you. We here at armyranger.com are an "equal opportunity" bunch. We are convinced that everyone should have the opportunity to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment. That is one of the prime reasons this site exists. Please take a few minutes and tell us a little more about yourself. Where do you live? Have you been in contact with an Army recruiter? Can you swim? Next, please self-administer a PT test and post your results here. You will be contacted by the other DEPs shortly. If you truly want to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you certainly came to the right site. Never, never quit!

its the push ups that I really need to work on. i really struggle with them, maybe due to bad form, but im sure they will improve as I do them every day when I wake up and before I go to bed. I dont have access to a gym so I'm limited to the exercises that I can do from home.

Rangers,
I leave for OSUT on Monday to begin my journey to earning the yellow and black tab that all you Rangers have already. I just wanted to thank you for all the information that every Ranger has posted on this site and the I soon hope to join at the top as an elite commando. Rangers do it right when no one else can, I know no Ranger even has the word "quit" in their vocabulary, and neither do I. Once again, thank you Rangers for all your help, and I'll be joining you soon.

Alex

Actually, the Ranger Tab will come later. You are actually looking to earn that Red, Black & White patch and a Tan Beret.

Good luck, and never quit.

Good luck, Alex, with "luck" meaning preparation meeting opportunity. You have the opportunity. The rest is up to you. By the way, is that 185 number you posted for sit-ups a typo? That would be like 1 and 1/2 reps per second.
