If you are ever in Fayetteville I encourage you to go to the Museum. Well maintained and great volunteer staff of retired military and spouses. I wish it had more Ranger history in it of modern era (Vietnam - Present Day). Every time I go down there (once a month) I do complain to the staff on two things, 1. The 75 RGR REGT display is inaccurate, it says that Bco 2/75 partcipated in the first air assault raid into Iraq, it was actually A/2/2. The whole print up is out of a Veritas Magazine article that was in error. I fill out a recommendation slip every time I go and they never change it. 2. The gift shop contains no Ranger items. Once in a great while they might have a tab shirt or shot glass.
The displays contain tons of donated items and upgrades are currently in the works. If you get a chance check out the website. Nice place to stop by, If you get a chance stop by the front desk and tell them you would like to see more Ranger items and history.

Re: Airborne and Special Operations Museum
I visited in 2002 and I thought the Museum was pretty cool. My favorite part was the video from the jump into Corrigedor, some very "hard landings" can be heard during the video.

I bet there aren't many kids on your block with "The Rock" DZ on their jump manifest!Silverback wrote:I visited in 2002 and I thought the Museum was pretty cool. My favorite part was the video from the jump into Corrigedor, some very "hard landings" can be heard during the video.
I'd love to see that.
