Day The Earth Stood Still

Post by panthersix »

The original "The Day The Earth Stood Still" is one of my favorite all time Scifi films. I used to watch it with my Dad all the time because one of his Army Buddies was on one of the tanks in the original film.

The remake is not worth the ticket price and maybe not even the Netflix price. It was a very crappy remake and all through the movie I kept thinking "the really cool stuff is coming, I know it is", but it never came through and it had a crappy ending too.

There is a sequal but it doesnt have the same director, or so I heard, the gay detective was a bit overkill though.

Watched Gran Torino. Pretty dang good, and not just the acting...He's looking alright for 78! That Gran Torino song's alright. I'm interested in seeing what happens at the Oscars, also.
I'm a little biased though, Clint is the man. He could be a 100, and there'd still be chics looking for a hot flesh injection.

Oops, almost forgot about Valkyrie. That's a pretty interesting movie. I think Tom Cruise did a good job with it.

I liked Tropic Thunder. Cruise was great; this about the only great thing he's ever done.

Blades of Glory:

It's funny. It's also the gayest movie I've ever seen...I think.

I think I'm going to go see Gran Torino and/or Unborn tomorrow.

Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull-

What a travesty. Honestly would rather have watched fat chick porn.

Unborn: It was a pretty decent horror movie, with Ring-like elements. It's probably a Jap-ripoff like the Ring. I went at the wrong time, though. The theater was filled with teenage girls, who screamed like they were being raped by tigers all throughout the movie.

Gran Torino: It was pretty decent. I laughed throughout the movie. The black people laughed throughout the movie. The asian people sitting next to me laughed throughout the movie. It was very believable, all the things that happened and all the things that were said.
