Remember Y2K? People lost their fucking minds, bought anything that made a bang and now have these rusting relics stuffed in the recesses of their closets. Some are ashamed they bought them, some glad. But THAT was an unrealistic scare. This one seems to be drowning people is fear and doubt.

As for me, Ive been buying weapons and bullets for years, amasing what could be seen as an insane amount of firepower. Id do it anyhow with or without the scare.
And no, I wont trade them for a gift. Im 53. Older people dont give a shit. I hope that if I die its after I have the gun takers stacked up like cord wood in front of my door.

The day my state decides that its safe enough to arm police with nothing but aresol cans of seasoning will be the day I turn my weapons in. But as long as police need a handgun and a back up gun on their persons and a shotgun and a "scary looking assault weapon" in the trunk of their cars to keep themselves safe from criminals, i'm going to take a dim view of anyone claiming that regular citizens has "no legitimate need for a firearm to defend against crime".

The gist of the suit is that the police do not have a legal obligation to protect you, the individual, but they do have the legal obligation to protect the community. So, lets say there is a giant riot downtown, but at the same time you think someone is breaking into your home. The police have to choose which area serves the greater good to the community at large. It would be to quell the riot, and you would have to fend for yourself.

In the history of the world a professional police force is a fairly new and recent invention. They did not exist at the time of the writing of the 2nd Amendment.
