I am thinking that someone out there (err, I mean around here since I am in Tacoma) has a collection of spare parts.
You know when you've been in a pool or hottub or something for awhile and your skin gets wrinkled and squishy?

Now think of what happens after something dies on land (it rots), then add the water effect to soften things up, and waves to keep the joints in motion--pretty soon you have the feet coming off (also note, these feet have been found still inside the shoes).

They said on the news that 4 of the 5 that were found were right feet, male and wearing athletic shoes.

So, that's easy.

Go to the beach and look for men walking in circles and eliminate as victims all AC-130 pilots.

Another possibility would be East German women's kayakers that were lost at sea for 25 odd years.

First of 5 feet found in Canada is identified
Testing ties it to depressed man who went missing a year ago

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - One of five feet that have mysteriously washed up on the shores of British Columbia over the past year has been linked to a depressed man who disappeared a year ago, police said Saturday.

Sgt. Pierre Lemaitre said DNA testing helped identify the man. The man's name was not made public at the family's request, he said.

The foot is the first to be identified by investigators, who have been working on the bizarre case since August when two feet were found days apart about 40 miles southwest of Vancouver on islands in the Strait of Georgia.

I believe ClockAndDagger may be on to something that explains this mystery.

Yup. They found another foot up near the other ones...

A black athletic shoe found Friday on a Clallam County beach contained human remains, authorities said Monday.

But the King County medical examiner determined the foot came off naturally after floating in the water, Clallam County Undersheriff Ron Peregrin said.

The shoe was found Friday about 14 miles from the Canadian shoreline. U.S. authorities are working with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to see whether there's a connection to five feet that have washed ashore there.

Peregrin said the foot would be sent for a forensic investigation and a DNA profile. Results of a DNA profile would take six to eight weeks, he said.

James Apa, a spokesman for Public Health – Seattle & King County, deferred comments to Peregrin on Monday afternoon.

Peregrin said the Washington shoe is similar to three of those found in Canada. The remains appear to be from a human right foot and were inside a man's low-cut athletic shoe, possibly used for hiking.
