My Intro

Post by thekman »

My name is thekman, I'm 21 years old and I live in TN. I've been wanting to join the Army since I was about 5, but got distracted along the way by friends and the lure of partying my college education away at UT in Knoxville. I'd officially be a junior if I went back, but I did not go back and decided I want to go ahead and enlist.

A really good friend of mine (even though he has 40 years on me I still consider him a good friend), is a retired First Sergeant who spent a little less than a decade in the 2nd 75th before moving over to SF for the rest of his career. He retired in 95 or 96, so he may or may not have served with many of you. He's the one that turned my attention to the 75th Ranger Regiment and explained in detail the training and hardships he went through to get there. He's also part of the reason I really want an option 40 contract.

I've read just about everything I could get my hands on about RIP, RS and the 75th in general, which makes me want to put in for it even more. I've never wanted anything in my life this badly. The reason I joined the website is to ask a really simple question that I could not locate an answer to when using the search function (and I looked for a long time). I'll post it under the proper heading though, and not in my intro.
