---Roger that Ranger Steadfast and all. I did look but obviously not good enough. I'm way past the age of any aspiration of Rangerdom. But I'll be a committed warrior to conqueor the nuances of of ArmyRanger.com
---My son understands the value of flying under the radar until he earns legit respect from "the way of life." So, it'll probably be a while before I get him dragged here.
---If I looked like the avatar I might not mind being a chick. I would rule the world. On second thought, nah, couldn't do it even then. I'd probably end up a porn star rather than ruling the world.

Welcome, Warrior sire. Glad to have you here among us.
Thank you for raising a son who was willing and able to serve our nation; no small task, especially in today's world.

Re: Parental Discretion Intro
There is not a lot of parental sort of interchange here so I have continued to lurk and stay abreast with all that is Ranger.
Thought it might be about time for an update:
My son got into regiment and was sucked to Iraq very quickly. From what I can gather he carried the Ranger standard with pride. He was shipped off to a remote 18 man un-uniformed recon base as the sole commo guy. I was impressed that they rolled him right into a variety of roles on missions. Respecting OPSEC I will just say there were some awfully high tech and stealthy operations.
He returned and now is in Mountain Phase of Ranger School. I may have posted before something about how great this has been for him. Even if so, I must repeat and even stronger: the service to country is noble, the tasks and accomplishments are amazing, but the greatest achievement is what being a Ranger accomplishes for the soldier himself. The physical gains are astounding, the skills are incredible, but the character instilled is inspiring beyond that. It is something that will be of impact long after the last mission is carried out.
My gratitude goes out to those who have served and serve. I give special thanks to those who are imbuing the Ranger ethos to my son. It is a legacy that will reach far beyond this soldier's term and scope of duty.

Nice reply back. Hope he is doing well in the Mountains. It kinda sucks there...but builds some character (as well as leg muscles!). Welcome Aboard.
