While there is a wait to go to SOCM, a year is a bit extreme. Too many fags use that as their quitting excuse. Even if it was a year, the juice is worth the squeezE. So if your gonna attempt RIP and SOCM.........DO PUSHUPS BITCH!Smittyleeb wrote:Thank you, Ranger K.Ingraham. I hope to be making the announcement as well.
I've heard from others that already left for airborne school that there's a year long hold to go to SOCM. Does anyone here know if there's any truth to that statement?

A 300 PT score and a 'NEVER QUIT' attitude would be handy to bring as well....Smittyleeb wrote:Ranger Jim,
Friday was graduation from BAC. We had the weekend off, heading to RIP tomorrow morning.
I briefed the girl on what I think is going to happen, and told her if she starts her needy girlfriend shit up, she's gone, year and a half together or not. I'm too close to have anything stop me.
I stocked up on everything I thought I'd need. 550 cord, 90 MPH tape, medical tape, pens, notebook, flashlight, and a knife. If any other Rangers has advice for anything else I'll need, I'd appreciate it.

RIP hold is just that. Don't let it fool you. Use your time wisely and don't do anything foolish.Smittyleeb wrote:Being a RIP hold is... different. Suprisingly chill.
My class is supposed to start 25 Aug. There's talk of going on leave if I pass the PT test on Wednesday.
Something's fishy. It's way to lax for me.
But MAN! The Rangers have such nice shit! The chow hall (what I tasted of it) was spectacular! Their barracks are the shit.
I can't wait to get this shit rolling.
oh, and brace for impact....

Don 't go on leave, nothing good can come from that. Your girlie friend will weaken your warrior resolve. You'll drink & possibly get into trouble. You'll get weak. You'll get weak.
Stay right there & PT your ass off - keep your mind in the game.
Save the leave time as a reward to self later on or sell it back so you can buy cool stuff.
I might mention that if you go on leave you'll become mentally & physically weak.
PS: Have I mentioned that if you go associate with civilians you'll become a weakling?
