Hey Silver and Gold, I believe one of the Moderators asked you a question, several days ago. It's usually polite to afford them an appropriate answer.

Thanks and good luck.
Not only is it polite, but around here it is mandatory.

so when you said you when you told the recruiter you wanted an OPT 40 he said the Regt doesn't want engineers. did you find out if they'd take an 11B from the guard?

I've told you and Bravo57 has now told you to get an avatar. do it.

Yes, I asked him if regular army would take 11B's from the guard, for OPT40 contracts. And he still told me, that im an engineer and that will most likely ruin my chances for an OPT40 contract.

Which I dont understand. But I am going to go see another recruiter wednesday when I get off leave. And back into Virginia.

Prepared to fight this battle.

I haven't a clue who "sica" is. When I first made my introduction i was on my home computer. The rest of my replies were on a different computer. And I needed my CAC to get on.

So I do not know who this guy is. But it's not me.

Since when is ruck weight in the US military measured in kg? Why should anyone walk around with almost ninety pounds on their back forever? When were you in Regiment again?

Stay in your lane.

I told him that I must do whats best for me, And I really want to go regular army.

Now Michael, why don't you go back to your commander and ask if your unit will allow you to go to Ranger School through ARNG Pre Ranger? That way you can continue to serve in the VAARNG and at the same time attend Ranger School. There is nothing wrong with being a ARNG Combat Engineer. Your unit should be able to get a RS slot.

Work in progress. Ranger Jim. However, even if I can get a ranger slot through the guard. I still want to go active duty. As soon as possible.

PT is getting better. Three days this week I ran 4 miles. And I have did pushups, And sit ups every other day. I need to start doing pullups again. I wasnt at the base, so I didnt have a bar though.

My eyes's on the objective. Time for me to go get it.

I think "ed the pimp daddy" meant to tell you 40 lbs, not kilos. I would guess that is about the average weight of a standard grunts packing list with 4qts of water. Of course, different jobs carry a fuck-ton more (FIST, Mortars, RTOs..) If you can ruck at a brisk pace on flat terrain with 40 lbs. you will be doing alright. For distance? 30 miles sounds about right...

Time for you to wake the fuck up and pay attention to what you're saying. There is no 'however' when you're receiving advice from someone with Ranger Jim's resume' stud, you take it and move out smartly like a hungry fucking Etheopian with a can of SPAM, scrape the shit off the top later, just take it and go. Attention to detail is paramount to success.

This ain't Zoooom. We don't hug "the new kid" here.

If you think running 4 miles 3 times this week is improvement, you must be in pretty poor shape for a young Specialist. Lay off the fucking twinkies and porn and push yourself a little rubberneck. Did you receive your rank due to college credits?

To make it to Regiment you will need to run on average 5-7 miles a day, outwards to 15 or more on Gut Check Days at an approx. 5.5-6.0 minute mile, steady. If you fall back, only twice, you will fail. I don't mean twice on the same run, I mean twice the whole time you're there.

I've read some damn good advice given to you from men, Rangers, that were Ranging before you or I were even born, or from Rangers currently serving, yet you don't seem to listen too well or think you may know better, you don't. Don't fool yourself bud, you don't know shit right now.

Take a knee and drink, listen, learn, smell, read, study, smell, learn, watch.

Ranger Cams,

No I did not recieve my rank due to college credits. I got it when i hit the two year mark.

I have taken the advice from the rangers here. My main focus right now, is this deployment. Getting in better shape before MOBing to support the mission we have been called for. And maintaining, and hoping to better my PT while there. Ranger will come when I get back, I am going to take care of my soldiers right now. They come before me as far as the Army goes right now. I cannot fucking stand an e-6 or e-7 that knows not a damn thing about their job, or cares less about their soldiers. And i refuse to turn into one.

I dont need nor want a hug.
