Hi!
Hi Rangers!
As the name says, I am a soon to be Ranger wife to a soon be Ranger. My soilder just got through RIP, and will be starting Ranger school July 6th. I am very proud of him, still doing research to see what our life is going to be like for the next few months which is how I came across this site.
As for me, I graduated last December with a bachelors degree in marketing. I am currently working for a government contracting company at Creech Air Force Base (right outside of Las Vegas). I am the communication between military personnel and my company, so it is an interesting job - and hopefully it will make for an easy transition into a career when he is done at Benning.
We already know that he will be at Fort Lewis when he is done, so if anyone has any suggestions on neighborhoods in Tacoma that are good or bad, I would love to chat with you! Also any insight you can give me on what to expect for the next few months, and anything I can do to make his life just a little easier would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com and soon to the world of the Ranger Battalions. Thank you for supporting your warrior. It's an exciting time for you both, so enjoy the transition as you both figure out what's what and where to live.
One of the lady moderators will be along shortly to let you in to the Chick side of the house. Watch your message box for that info. In the mean time, grab a cup of java and enjoy reading around the site. You're entering a whole new world and there's a lot around here to help you with that.

You say he graduated RIP Fri Jun 27, 2008 & he's starting Ranger School 6th JUL08? Me, being an "old timer", I thought it was customary for a RIP graduate to be assigned 1st, to a Ranger BN before going toSoon to be wrote:Graduated today! He is acutually coming out here in between, gets here tonight!Tater Nuts wrote:When did he get through RIP ?
Ranger School? Where was this RIP he attended located? (for clarification purposes to this "old timer".)
Oh, & welcome Ma'am.

Is he a Medic? Sometimes if there is a long hold over for SOCM guys will get sent straight to RS from RIP. Rare, but it happens.IDon'tCare Posted: Sun Jun 29, 2008 4:04 am Post subject:

I take it your soon to be is a NCO with a rank of E-5?
If not then let me know. No way a newbie moves that fast.

He is an E-5. One of the few there. Appearently this time apart, though, is not doing so well on our relationship, so my soon to be may be not so much anymore. :/
