Chinese AntiTank Rifles - Drain the Lake!

Post by Spartan »

This has to be one of the coolest uses of an Anti-Tank Rifle I've yet seen - trying to drain one of those big lakes that formed after the earthquakes they had recently.

If you hit this link they've got some video of blowing up a canal with Dynamite, C-4 and shooting an assload of missles into it to try and enlarge it.

Full story

And they put their Airborne Forces to work too:

Some times, Chinese AT crews get lonely, man. You can't blame 'em for it. Some people have happy socks, those dudes have happy Hongjians.

What was interesting was the airborne drop. They jumped at a high altitude with a pilot chute slowing them down. The red and white one was a square and it opened Hop and Pop then was taken fast by the wind.

Some one else check and correct me if I’m wrong.

I looked again and it appears that the first red and white had a premature main deployment. Look closely and you see at the end one of the white pilot chutes deploy a red and white square. Not bad. 8)

That looks like a system similar to the Russian modified freefall system. They use a pilot chute to stablize them in a tight body position and then deploy the main once they are at the proper altitude. More a a "MAMO" than an HALO. The BLM smoke jumpers use the same system.

Of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, eighty are nothing but targets, nine are real fighters, we are lucky to have them. They make the battle. Ah, but the one, one of them is a Warrior, and he will bring the others back.
