Hey Rangers,
I am currently a cadet at UT Austin under the Green to Gold program. I served with 1-187 Scouts from 2002-2005 and then opted to cross to the "Darkside" in 2006, after receiving recruiting orders in. I look forward to branching infantry, attending and completing Ranger School, and hopefully attending ROP. I hope that by corresponding with the community I will stay abreast of issues and concerns relevant to what I aspire in achieving. I have always had the utmost respect and envy for the Regiment and those that bear the weight of the Ranger Tab. My instructing cadre is Ricco from 2-75. He has been working his ass off to infect each and every future Lieutenant of the program with "how to think" and not "what to do". He's been a great mentor and solid coach for all those who aspire to lead Infantrymen. My hats off to all of you.

Nothing wrong with the dark side. We have the all the cool guys; Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Darth Sidious, the creepy green Emperor, Boba Fett.

Of course, we all die and lose in then end, but at least we get to do cool stuff along the way like blow up planets, bust caps in Ewoks, chain up princesses and choke dudes out.

Welcome, Rakkasan.

May have met you last year when I spoke at your annual get dressed up and look good ball. Welcome here.

Not sure you could get better leadership or direction from anywhere than what you get from Rico. The man does not have compromise in his soul. Learn that well.

Drive on, young man....proud to have you. 8)

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

Welcome, Green to Gold. You will be hard pressed to find better mentorship than you have. Trust me, you do not know what the "dark side" is. Best of luck to you, with luck meaning preparedness meeting opportunity. You have the opportunity, always be prepared, and make your own luck.
