Intro from Texas
I'm a former Texas Army National Guardsman, 49th Armored Division 1/133rd FA 1996-2002 91B Combat Medic. I was assigned as the sole medic for Det. 1 FiST Team. I'm currently working as a Registered Nurse in Houston, TX. I'm 29 yrs old and looking to get back into the Guard. I want to make sure I'm in a high-speed unit though. I don't want to get back in just to sit around the drill hall all weekend, what a waste of time. If anyone knows of any TXARNG units that are high-speed and possibly have medic slots or would be willing to take me in, I'd appreciate the info.
Thanks to all that serve this great country!

I think the definition of "high speed" can vary.
I know that there are a number of posts on here about TXARNG units that are hiring and could be your cup of tea. The ones that most readily come to mind, depending on your definition is the new SF unit, the LRS unit and a new Airborne Infantry unit coming soon.
Sorry to hear about your home.
Welcome Doc.
Here's a thread with more info on the new SF unit in your area...

I live in Houston. Strange, we happen to have a Company Commander on here who commands something abit more than the average guard unit. Maybe he will respond. Good luck to you.

Yeah, well, I don't necessarily "love" living in the Houston area. Nursing pay is good here for me and there's a lot of things to do. I can't wait to move to the Central Texas Hill Country though.KW Driver wrote:that fucker's just jealous cause he has to live near Dallas....DocReeves wrote:What were you referring to? :?Sorry to hear about your home.
Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I don't know if I'll be able to contribute anything worth reading here. I think I'll mainly be keeping my mouth shut and learning a thing or two, or three.
Thanks again Rangers.

My son is going through 68 W training at fort san antonio to become a medic in the army. He recieved orders for ranger indoctrination at fort benning, GA. He would like to know what civilian qualifications a ranger medic has? or how far is it off from becoming a LVN or RN.
Re: Information on Paramedic
you need to post an intro of your own in the appropriate area. we like to know who we're talking to. you might get a response after you post there.decroix wrote:
